it a good combination of all those, a great concept artist is motivated and is constantly trying to improve his skills and try to come with something new.

How about Planescape or Dark Sun? They are fantasy settings yet are different enough from the classic fantasy worlds.

hey Andrew! Thanks, I wish I had a better lens tho'...
also for some reason your question here is not full, in case there was a question, if not, thanks and I hope to see you soon again in Romania maybe :) -
yeah, I feel like going berserk when this happens, but investing in some more RAM fixes that problem :)

usually the concepts are based on descriptions, but if I feel inspired I just go with the flow.

there's no "best program" for concept art, whatever works best for you, whatever you feel more comfortable with. I use Photoshop cause I can manipulate faster and better anything, but Painter is better if you wants something more artistic and painterly :)

I don't mind. I played games since I was I kid, I love the medium, it's interactivity, its perfect to tell stories, to experience and to learn new stuff.
Almost 4 years ago I had the chance to work at Gameloft, so I did. :)
As for tips, be passionate about what you create, always be open minded. Try to help some people who are doing MODs for games with art, do fan art, concept art and when you feel you have a strong portfolio send it to some games companies and hope for the best :) -

Finally a good question! :)
Well I usually work on as many layers I need, step one - a quick sketch, step two - a more defined line work and step three - coloring
But this is not the only way I work, sometimes I start painting without the first two steps, some times with colors (but requires more skill) sometimes just black and white and add color on the way.
There's no right way to do it, depends on what I want to do and how fast I need it done. -
