      There, There, Anubis...There, there...

We won't let the bad Olympian God near you again...I promise.

      See...He's already gone!

      It will be all right.

I don't know what to tell you, Horus. It was here 10 minutes ago.

In ancient times, my kind was often worshipped as gods. These days, not as often. But I have felt the wrath of the Hebrew god, however indirectly...And I fear it.

I am Thoth. Egyptian god of Wisdom, Writing, Magic, Baboons, the Moon, and Time.

Because I'm humble, and I am wise.

I have little interest in being the most powerful Netjer. I'd rather be the most knowledgable.

I am more powerful than usual. I don't know how much more, as I seldom exercise that power.

Other than muting Set for a day. Since he's my vassal now, I suppose that I can't do that now.

Those particular birthdays. I believe you have seen enough of Set and Horus to understand why. And of course, a god's birthday is when they are at the height of their power.

    15. Thoth

I must go with Set's answer.

The Book of Overcoming Apophis is one of my finest works. Although I am also partial to The Book of Coming Forth By Day.

Indeed. July 19th, by the Roman Calendar. In Ancient Egypt, it was the beginning of a month long feast known as The Feast of Thoth.

    18. Thoth

Yes. Now I only need to wait until March when the Egyptian New Year passes, and I won't have to deal with Horus and Set's insufferable birthday contests for another year.

A curse upon the Romans...Why did you have to give the five Children of Nut a second set of birthdays?
