At what point is a game trying too hard to be cinematic? What's the most cinematic game you've played? Where do you think the balance is? For example, I feel The Run pulls away from actual racing, and Uncharted 2 was great fun. (Also, inb4 MGS4.)

This video outlines cinematic games and their definitions pretty well.
Uhh... MGR was really cinematic in the sense that it used radical camera work and shit during the finishers. And it was TOTALLY FUCKING AWESOME. -

What are your favorite drinks to get you through a working day? I tend to drink a lot of water or V8.

I drink a ridiculous amount of liquids during the day, due to a mysterious endless thirst I have that I have yet to find the source of. Soft drinks, fruit juice, water, melted ice cream. You name it.
Can't drink vegetable juices because my Crohn's dislikes that shit. And I don't drink alcohol because I hate bitter stuff. -
I like to entertain the thought that we're all data in a giant supercomputer. Existence as we know it is a simulation being run by otherworldly scientists.

It's a running gag in my life that I'm always the shortest and youngest in whatever social group I'm in.
In literally every class since I started kindergarten up to college, I was ALWAYS the shortest and youngest.
that doesn't help my complex on being called a kid. i know i look young but fucking come on i'm 20 years old.
It's also why I absolutely delight in being older than people on the internet or in new social groups. -

What's your favorite painful origin story? In what ways does pain and struggle shape someone into a better, stronger person?

Big Boss's origins. In MG1 and 2 he was a heartless bastard. Playing through MGS3, Portable Ops and Peace Walker makes me weep for him. And in Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain, shit's gonna get even MORE real.
they will pay for destroying mother base. they will all pay.
Anyway, I've been through a lot of pain and struggling myself, and I feel ridiculously strong because of it. Sure I'm still deathly afraid of pain, but my will is strong as steel. -
A shirt and some jeans. If I'm actually going outside, I rock a polo and darker jeans. If the weather's cold, I add a zip-up hoodie or sweater. If it's really cold, I rock a heavy-duty jacket that I really like. And maybe a scarf.
Once I leave for Switzerland, I plan on reworking my wardrobe. Graphic tees can only get you so far in life. And I could go for a nice pair of slacks. -
The Eiffel tower and the Chrysler building.
