It certainly was a fun site. that's for sure. I guess we'll see what Youreply brings. The "new Formspring". Formspring 2 Electric Boogaloo :) lol
-
Discussion: Formspring was very popular in the beginning. But according to alexa, the site's daily reach and traffic rank has decreased significantly. As a spammer, i noticed the drop. Why do you think so many people left? Have any of your friends left?

The shelf life on most sites seems short. There is the boom, and the inevitable decline. A few sites like Facebook, and Youtube seem to be doing well, but it's just a matter of time until those fade to grey as well.

Mine was 10mb. Not quite sure why I actually downloaded it, but since I was given the option, I took it lol.

I have never used that feature on here (unless I was joking around with @LNR87 ). Normally, if I have something to ask, I have no issues asking directly. As with my replies, I have never had difficulty being direct, so that feature wasn't of much use to me. As for the people that used it to send lousy stuff to others, I have a simple philosophy about the internet: My thinking is to treat people the same way I would in everyday life, and I am normally a positive person. I feel being transparent, and accountable establishes better credibility, and as a result, better connections, and overall internet experience. At the end of the day, there is a real person at the other end of a computer/username, and that matters. There is enough drama, and nonsense in day to day life, my internet time is to relax, have a few laughs, and meet interesting people.
I received a lot of anon mail on here, some of it funny, some of it was just vitriol. The latter usually just ended up being trashed, without response. If someone doesn't have the courage, or self confidence to put their face behind a comment, they really are not worth my time, and with many other interesting or fun questions to respond to, there really is no sense in wasting time with the junk. I don't give negative people much time in my day to day life, I am certainly not going to in a venue where filtering them out is easier than ever.
As for the benefits of anonymous features, I guess it gives shy people a medium to talk to people? I never really understood it completely to be honest. Most of the internet is already anonymous to begin with, so additional features for further identity masking seems redundant to me.The closest I have come to a " hidden identity" was an account on here "Melvin McFly" . The people I communicated with on the account knew who I was, and I never used the account in a vitriolic way. I simply wanted to create an amusing character to entertain people, and have fun with. I didn't really use the account very often, and the joke got a bit old, so I retired it. As a creative person, I like the idea of experimenting with that sort of thing (like the fake Christopher Walken writer Twitter, although not using a real person). I enjoy making people laugh, and there is potential for me using that sort of method again in the future (when I have more time to communicate with people I am already in touch with on my actual accounts). I feel that is quite different than an anonymous account, because at the end of the day, my real identity would be available, and the "character" would very obviously be fake (as was Melvin on here lol). I also wouldn't use that type of account to talk to, or "meet" people. I would use it to write that characters fake thoughts, or bogus experiences, and very rarely reply to others, unless I seen it useful, and entertaining to the people involved, or the character. I have no plans on creating such a project in the near future, but it's possible in the distant future. We'll have to see. -
She IS the Easter bunny! hehe :)

I followed you :) It's sad to see the ole Formsprings go. This ended up being one of my favorite sites. Many great people on here, I hope I will get to talk to again in the future :) Have a great day!

I made a "Youreply" account. It seems to be nearly identical to FS, so we'll see how it goes. Hit me up! http://youreply.net/test23/show-user.php?user=wtfjay

Well, I think the arguments of fair competition, or free market would present a problem with roads. For example, you would be either faced with a monopoly, or you would end up with a pipeline of similar roadways, going to the same places, offering different toll rates. It seems pretty silly. Imagine highways using a retail business model. 10 highways side by side, competing lol. I don't see a lot of utility in that. Infrastructure is a bit tricky in this regard, for the obvious reasons. I admit, I haven't invested much thought into it.

That's an interesting hypothetical. I really don't know how it would have turned out. I might be able to assume, there would be a lot of friction, and additional politicking, which at this point, really wouldn't serve the US any utility. I really don't know how things would have been different, or if it would have fallen apart.

Debate #429: After President Obama made a statement on Sunday, saying that the Boy Scouts of America should be open to gays, some conservatives such as Texas Gov. Rick Perry, said the Boy Scouts should not be pressured to do so. What do you think? [44]
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/feb/4/obama-boy-sco…
My thinking on this is quite simple. The Boy Scouts has a tight tie with the church, the church is against homosexuality. The church has a right to this opinion, and shouldn't have the government forcing it otherwise. The right for believers to be able to practice their faith, as they see fit (providing it's within the law) is an important right, and should be protected, If the church wants to be bigoted, it's their choice,
Now, here's the rub. When the church is looking for tax entitlements, and handouts from the community, while holding beliefs that community might not agree with, or endorse, much like the churches right to choose what it does, the people should have the right to choose what organizations in their community they get to support, with tax breaks, and other benefits. It's quite simple. If an institution is not open to, cannot be utilized by, or isn't accommodating to everyone in a community, the community shouldn't have to pay for it.
Instead of giving the church money to divert into this institution, and forcing these kids into an environment that is hostile towards them, put the money into a program that is accessible, and welcoming to everyone. Problem solved, everyone is happy. These are kids! They shouldn't be put into this situation to begin with! This culture war is absurd, and bringing kids into it is disgusting. Both sides of this are being extremely stupid about this matter, and seriously need to grow up. Sometimes I really wonder what goes on in peoples heads. It's really not complicated. Really. -
While part of me wants to believe people can change, the part of me that has no patience for sex criminals enjoys the idea of society making their lives really miserable. The thing with sex crimes is, the damage to the victims never really goes away. It ruins the victims life, so it seems perfectly justified to me, that the offender spends the rest of their life paying for it.
