"A song that makes you get up from the chair and use the stylus (for example) and a microphone without realizing it?"
That would be The Little Ships by Jean Jacques Perrey! XD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sj8B8P1fBpo or "trolololo"... well I was already told I am retarded. ;)

"Have you cried over a video game?"
Oh yes I have. It was Metal Gear Solid 4. Damn this game was so epic!

I actually am surprised that thi Formspring got so many followers and questions waiting for me. So I am now trying to pick some of the "best" questions first to write some answers to and to proceed to the other ones later. :)

Into the mind of one of my very favourite comic artists, who sadly died of cancer some years ago. His name was Michael Turner, and he had this very special way of making lines go to life.

I'd given everything to speak to him just for 5 minutes of my life. Sadly I was too late.

That also is a good one! Because it seriously depends on "were" you're announcing that you're open for commissions.

On DeviantART for instance, people were most willing to pay for good quality between 150 and 200 € just 3 years ago, which was a solid income.

(Always calculate how many hours you work on something. 30 bucks is a quite ok for an hourly income. Even 20 bucks is quite fine. Everything that goes below that will make you a starving artist.)

But now, so many people are doing dumping, cause they're just hobbyists or students, making it really hard for the ones who need the money to eat... and Dollar has grown so weak, that nobody wants to pay Euros anymore. Even when you lower to around 75 €, you won't get many requests on places like that.

So most people are indeed working between 10 and 40 dollars which I call uber dumping. I'd never suggest anyone to work below 150 bucks, because that would be working for cheap and not in any way compensate the work you've put into it!

So your only chance to get good compensation would be to work for somebody who is really willing to pay you what you deserve or work for a professional company, starting with at least 30 bucks by hour.

I started painting digital - for "real" - on 2005. Before that it was just some playing around with Microsoft Paint and a mouse every now and then. You can't call this serious painting, lol! XD

There is a lot of things that inspire me. I love movies, I love music. I love to take a look at every kind of art, be it fashion, or monsters, or fairies. This all adds to the overall feeling I get when I am working on a certain topic. :)

It depends massively, let me tell you why:

      - When you're just starting out you might not want to spend hundrets of dollars for a new tablet. Here I'd recommend trying out one from WACOM'S Bamboo series first. They cost around 50 bucks and serve well when it comes to all basic needs that go with digital painting.

      - When you're already working digitally a lot and you're looking out for something that responds perfectly to every move you make, you might want to buy a WACOM Intous tablet foryourself.

Overall, I would suggest you to stay away from every tablet that's not from WACOM. I've tried out lots of tablets so far, since some of my students bring their own ones to class, and it always appeared that WACOM served best quality for best price.

*LoL* Naw, I don't think so. A lot of people are actually telling me that I would be too nice/ have too much patiente with some people or am giving out too many chances to those who screw up.... but I got some temper indeed. I do say openly what I think and I also fight for my friends and for my projects a lot. ;)

I would say that there is a difference. You can be an artist, or you can be an imployed person.
When you do art as a job it is a job. Comparable to every other thing that people do for money. The customer comes first.
So when people say you are broke as an "artist" that is obviously because most people that call themselves artists do not strive to work for anyone or please a customer.
You will have to make a decision. DO you want to do this for a living and work for your customer then? You could still create your own art during your free time. Or do you want to be a "pure" artist? Then you will be "starving" no doubt.

As child I was totally into the Dark Crystal which explains my love for Avatar today.
      Quentin Tarantino - Inglorous Basterds!!
I also dig Jason Statham action films, films that are made after comic books like Sin City, V For Vendetta or Iron Man, 300, and then we have a massive collection of all genres.
I basically rent at least one video or a game each week to try it out. I am a lover. ;)

Warm bath of course. This is pretty relaxing! ;) I'd only take a cold shower when it's summer and I have been runing around in the heat all day. :P

Yeah a friend of mine got one. They are good for scribbling and such but my personal opinion is that when you plan to seriously use it for painting and such, safe the money, and wait for the technique to be more porgressed - and cheaper.
