No freakin' idea but I'd like there to be a dog and perhaps an adopted kid involved.

When the DJ who eventually became my mentor asked me if I wanted to take over the decks while he was getting drinks for some ladies he was finessing. I was 16. I'd never dj'ed before but he heard I did parties (high school house parties, with cassettes and CD's). I would come to the club early every week and study his technique before I terrorized the dance floor. I rocked it and opened for him until I graduated high school. Big ups to DJ Physique still doing his thing in Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands.

Earth, Wind & Fire. Sly & The Family Stone. P-Funk. I'm assuming 'acts' doesn't mean 'solo artists'.

I'm assuming all J5 material is within bounds. And I'm also not ready to fully commit to the landmine that is this question so I'll go with a top five.
"Show You The Way To Go"
"Can You Feel It"
"It's Too Late To Change The Time"
"I Can't Help It"
"Human Nature" -
I saw your tweet that you saw my tweet. We think alike.
By the sound of so many of these remixes and mashups I delete from my library, mixing in key apparently isn't a core value. Bammas just throw any acapella onto any track off the wanton dissonance!
I know they have software for it now but I've always mixed in key by ear. If it doesn't sound right, it won't feel right. If the keys clash, you can still make the mix happen if you overlap the solely rhythmic portions of the tunes. But so many DJs rush their playing these days... stopping now before I rant. -
Hopefully I'll tell them that he had an awesome 2nd term. And I'll definitely tell them that he made white folks lose their gotdayum minds. And that we did a block long Electric Slide on U St on 11/4/08.

Depends on the crowd. Some songs that drive certain people into fits of ecstasy make me want to vomit into my lap.
In my world, Stevie Wonder's "Another Star" might be the most explosive dancefloor weapon when used properly. -
Patrick.
Pretty basic. But when combined with my first and last name, a nice bit of rhythmic meter is created. -
Great music and people who got their minds right. Everything else is a bonus, whether it's location, food, libations, art, etc. Some people need extra things to get their minds right, which is cool and can make the experience more memorable but you have to start with the basics.
A real world example of the best party ever might be the year Jump N Funk at WMC spilled out of the hotel and we literally took over the patio, sidewalk and street for about 8 hours straight. It was like a scene from Fame combined with Lionel Richie's vid for All Night Long. -
I wouldn't know. All the people I surround myself with are smarter than me.

Laziness. Eating cereal straight from the box. None of the music I enjoy brings me guilt. Music is my refuge from that emotion.

Dedication to and mastery of one's craft. Originality. Soul.

No shortage of dope hip-hop these days... Diamond District and all Low Budget Crew members, Kokayi, Elzhi, Black Milk, Jay Electronica, Blu, Blitz the Ambassador, Cool Cee Brown, Ty, People Under The Stairs, Kardinal Offishal (need some newness from him)
