There have been many good ones, but, in chronological order, I'm going to say Lorilynn McSweeney, Jim Brock, Lee Watkins, Curtis Guenther, and Jim Taylor (RIP).

English & Spanish, and passable Italian. I can also understand most written and spoken Portuguese, and, to a lesser extent, written French.

Honestly can't think of an answer. When I ask advice, I choose people whose opinion I trust and/or whose advice has worked for me in the past.

Mmmm... can't really say. I'm in a new city and haven't really had the time to go many places because I'm in the middle of the fall tax season. :(

The English names JAMES and JACOB are variants of each other. They share the same origin, deriving from the Biblical Hebrew name Ya'aqov.

I come from North Carolina, and actually just moved back to NC in August. My immediate family lives here, too, with the exception of one sister who lives in London, UK.

Most of my father's side of the family are in Tennessee, but I have a cousin here in NC, a cousin in Ft. Worth, TX, and also some extended family on my dad's side in Arkansas, Mississippi and Arizona.

Most of my mother's side of the family live in NC, scattered all over the state. Some of her family also live in South Carolina, and I've got an uncle and cousins who live north of Houston in The Woodlands, TX.

I've never thought about this before, but the first picture that springs to mind is "Migrant Mother" by Dorothea Lange. It's a moving photograph that reminds us of an extremely difficult time in US history, one that most of us who are alive today are fortunate not to have experienced.

Sadly, history can repeat itself, and it would seem that many of the conditions that gave rise to the Great Depression are upon us once more.

Here's the photo along with interesting commentary:

Objectively speaking, the worst job I've ever had was working in food service at a bagel sandwich shop during college. The customers were rude during the lunch rush, and I'd go home smelling like cream cheese. I consider myself fortunate, though, for that job to have been the worst I've ever dealt with.

As I've grown professionally, I've learned that it's not so much the type of work I do, but rather the people with whom I work, that makes any given job (or workday) good or bad.

A microphone that hauls off and bitch slaps the speaker every time he/she tells a lie when speaking into it. I'd make sure that all the cable news outlets, C-SPAN, the AM talk radio stations and all levels of government have plenty to go around.

      Raw broccoli.

It's waxy and it smells bad. When you bite into the stalk there is a strange and off-putting hybrid sensation of rubbery+crunchy. When you bite into the floral head, bits of green fall all over the place and get stuck in your teeth. Furthermore, the floral head is as dry and tasteless as a paper towel.

Raw broccoli is gross. The remedy? Steam the broccoli and cover it in cheese sauce, which adds much needed calcium.
