Ask me about movies. Or the Phantom of the Opera. Or actors--but not the gossipy stuff. In terms of movies.

      WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN?!

      1. The Phantom of the Opera
      http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/301917_260651350643650_260529333989185_697313_444939094_n.jpg
If he doesn't look particularly villainous, it's because he's not so simple as to be labelled a "villain" and cast off to twirl his mustache maniacally in the distance. True, he is the story's antagonist and quite disturbed, lethal, obsessive, and dangerous... but he is not truly evil and is fundamentally a tortured soul. Yet the atrocities he commits are disturbing, and he obviously takes pleasure in some of them--but what drives him to these crimes is something that causes agony in any viewer. That's why he's so fascinating.

      2. Dr. Hannibal Lecter
      http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_66vwTmFE1Ps/TQaMiHDXuLI/AAAAAAAAAC4/wLP-i_fBhfo/s1600/Hannibal+Lector.gif
One of the most frightening and intriguing villains in cinematic history, we will never really get over seeing Dr. Lecter for the first time, standing waiting for Agent Starling in his cell. Ever.

      3. Count Dracula
      http://www.childrensbooksireland.ie/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Dracula1.jpg
No other villain has been so submerged into cinema and popular culture as the Father of All Vampires. Nor would we want it any other way.

      4. The Joker
      http://images.wikia.com/batman/images/f/f9/Heath_Ledger_as_the_Joker.JPG
Um. There is really nothing to be said here.

      5. Patrick Bateman
      http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kx5e3GvgzpA/TUZk1YxGIvI/AAAAAAAAB6Q/EIgeYD1YC64/s1600/hbgbrfpsnnwj3gdqsx49a1c89cd3f8a_patrick-bateman.jpg
There are few things more desperately creepy and intriguing than Christian Bale's classic serial killer in the infamous film American Psycho.

      6. SS Standartenfuhrer Hans Landa
      http://www.amoeba.com/dynamic-images/blog/Charles/inglourious-basterds-christoph-waltz02.jpeg
Christoph Waltz's "Jew Hunter" Nazi in Quentin Tarantino's gruesome alternate universe film chilled audiences worldwide to the bone.

      7. Norman Bates
      http://cdn.gunaxin.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/psycho9.jpg
To say much more about the infamous Norman would be to ruin the film for those who haven't seen it... But the poor, innocent, trapped young man is famous for a reason.

      8. Loki Laufeyson
      http://www.mediamikes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/01/loki-avengers.jpg
Any superhero movie is only as good as its villain. And the Avengers has an incredible one in Loki. Not just the sadism, hunger for power, and lust for revenge make Loki so enthralling, but also his desperation and the pain and utter insanity that lies underneath his cold exterior.

      9. Inspector Javert
      http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ltodbbTNPs1r4gvs7o1_400.jpg
The insanity, frenetic energy, and obsession of the antagonist is intoxicating... and yet this freakishly strait-laced lawman is not technically a villain either. But that's what makes his atrocities and such all the more interesting.

      10. Voldemort
      http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MnmEbGI4EHE/TbF_rBiM4TI/AAAAAAAAARQ/Rbtv2Nn_BTc/s1600/LordVoldemort.jpg
This entirely evil creature harkens memories of totalitarian dictators and hate criminals of old, and is chillingly realistic in the control he exerts over all his followers. All Harry Potter fans are scared of Lord Voldemort, somewhere in their minds.

I am completely and utterly insane.
Once you accept that, we may or may not be able to be friends.

    6. Anna V. Santori

My obsessiveness, my ability to retain large amounts of knowledge, my extensive mind-library of film and theater and actors.

    7. Anna V. Santori

The need to get out of my small town life, to do wonderful, meaningful, large things in the world and not be stuck here forever.

I think it is optimistic--it is meant to be a slightly cynical comment, yes, but the sentiment is basically that life is too short to be consumed in the things that drag you down, and you should just live it to its fullest. The idea that we're all going to die someday is not pessimistic, I think. It's just a fact of life. Until then, we should just get a lot of living done. Like, as much as possible.

I think love is something we can never fully understand, and yet can never be fully happy without. True, it causes misery and heartbreak, but we can never know true beauty without it either. It brings out the best and the worst in us--and when it brings out the best, it is truly something magical.

      I hate where I live.
I live in the middle of nowhere, with the closest town being small, full of ignorant, close-minded people, and where nothing at all happens.
Nothing beautiful or meaningful is made here.
And I want to go somewhere where great things and creative things happen.
I'd love to live in New York City.

Depends on whether I'm feeling sluggish and want to vamp out with an enormous stack of movies and some popcorn; or whether I want to go gallivanting along outside and find other shenanigans to get myself into.

By going to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway with my two best friends, then eating at the Trattoria Trecolori a few blocks away. It was the most fucking amazing day of my life.

Anna V. Santori’s Bio

"The details of my life are rather inconsequential..."
...
But honestly, movies and theater are the drumbeat of my life, and I quote them and obsess over them like nobody's business.

Honestly, if fangirling was a job, I could make SO much money...
