I always hate the awkwardness of, "Hey man, can you hand me some toilet paper? I'm all out over here."

I feel that it's one of the basic human-compassion traits to hook-a-brother-up in this situation, but it's super-awkward for all parties involved.

As of January 2011 there are 4 full-time Promethium Employees, and 2 part-time employees.

As of this moment, I will be going to both Pax East 2011, and Pax Prime 2011.

My favorite year has to have been 2006 - the year I got into the video game industry.

I did it in an unconventional, and grassroots way, and I truly believe that my path into the video game industry has shaped the way I treat others in the industry.

Assuming my wife didn't exist (because clearly this is a trick question by my wife), I'd look to Katy Perry.

Great question - it depends on the interaction we've had. If someone does something to stand out, I will usually remember them - good or bad. Generally speaking though, if I've never met someone before, I'd say after meeting them 2-3 times I'll remember them.

Promethium's been lucky enough to work with some of the biggest names in entertainment like Windows 7, Madden NFL Football, Tekken, Uncharted, and Xbox 360.

Saving Private Ryan. Action-packed, powerful, and emotional, it's one of the few movies I cried while watching.

I have played D&D since 1st edition, and always favored Rogues. I haven't used one in 4th edition yet, but I love the combination of damage and fragility with sneak-attack/backstab and their lower AC/lower hps.

Admittedly, my fav. character of all time is from home-brew Medieval Hero - Elven Assassin/rogue who had a sprinkling of illusionary magic to really epitomize what I felt a rogue should be.

To sound cliche, we'd like to get the game to as many people as possible, but we picked the iPhone as the leading platform. We're looking into other places that we can release the game, but nothing concrete right now.

Promethium Marketing (Nelson, Tony & I) concepted, designed, and directed the game. We're also doing the marketing - but we didn't do the actual coding - that was handled by GrinLock.

    12. Chris Paladino

The support of family and friends. It then became clear that Tony, Nelson and I worked well together and that we should continue to do so.

Once a goal was found, it was much easier to do.

The three guys in Promethium love games. We've been blessed, smart, and lucky enough to have the opportunity to create something from scratch, with features we want, with gameplay we enjoy. It's an exciting time!

    14. Chris Paladino

I'd enjoy creating, and I have eclectic music tastes, so I'd like to be a musician.

I could also see myself doing what I do now, but for board games.

Steam was a "crazy idea" when it first came out, but it has influenced lots of what's going on with the consoles.

It's already happening on consoles, and it will continue, I just hope that the pricing is adjusted. What I mean is that if a game isn't selling (because it's old, because it's not very good, etc) you'd see it reduced in price in retail. We're seeing similar pricing experiments on Steam (look at their recent holiday sales!).

Because it's not a physical good, there's no shelf space, and less incentive to reduce the cost. That said I'd wager publishers on steam are happy to move product late in it's lifecycle.

We're not seeing enough of these types of discounts on the consoles, and I hope that's something that changes soon.

Way to hit below the belt!

PC Gaming isn't dead. I listed Blood Bowl, and Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II as two of my top 5 games in the last year for pete's sake.

Add to that stuff you can't get on a console like Diablo 3, Sims 3, Torchlight, World of Warcraft and Team Fortress 2 (you are about to say that TF2 is also on the 360 - no, I'm not sure what that that was, but it wasn't TF2).

PC gaming allows niche stuff like the super-hardcore Hex-based Military sims, indy stuff, flash-based stuff, and tons of casual games (Peggle, Puzzle Quest, Bookworm - all started on the PC).

    17. Chris Paladino

Before Xbox, I had a full-time job, a wife, and also spent 15+ hours/week on my video game hobby. Keeping up on news, recording/editing podcasts, writing articles - this doesn't include playing games for fun. It wasn't a paying job, but I loved it.

After getting the opportunity to make a living off of something I love, I knew I had to stay in the gaming industry.

We are not only geared towards games at Promethium. I think that we know the 18-34 year old audience, so similar products (you named a few already) are something I'd love to get into if we continue to grow.

We started with gaming because we had the most familiarity, background, and contacts.

      Great question.

I don't think many companies have clear goals or social media plans. There's a reactive movement to have a twitter account, or a facebook page, but sometimes that's as far as the thinking has gone.

It's also more difficult to succeed in a SM/CM role at a company where those roles aren't real. What I mean is, ROI and Word of Mouth can be difficult to proof in hard-fast numbers/charts. Measurements are getting better, but if your execs. don't really believe in social media (and have a goal) then you are going to have a difficult time in your job.

    19. Chris Paladino

If you are achieving your goals, you are never wasting your time.

What I mean is, if you love blogging, or podcasting, or being part of a community - then by all means CONTINUE TO DO IT!

Just because you don't have access to Cliff Bleszinski, Jack Tretton or Itagaki-san doesn't mean you are a failure. Neither does failing to crack the top 25 iTunes podcasts or the top 100 Alexa rankings.

You can't, however, start a site/podcast with the expectation that you'll make money off of it, or get a job in the industry - so I think you have the right attitude.

There's a difference between putting my cred/rep/personal approval on a title - and executing marketing/PR for one.

Avatars, and NXE were good examples of things I was less excited about than say, Gears of War. I feel that I kept my moral code, and also helped Microsoft inform/sell their products. I was also given the freedom to write blog posts on an official MS blog like this one: http://gamerscoreblog.com/team/archive/2008/07/28/560253.aspx

I haven't, and won't ever lie. I DO really dig Shadowrun and Too Human.
