I'm a non believer. I have no Christian view of authority. What I'm asking is, why is the authority totally bought into, without progressive reform, because it is God's words? Surely God's words are meant to be adapted as times change? Sorry.
The Bible is not the final authority, the Church is. The Church produced the Bible and only she has the authority to interrupt it.
If we wanted to know about the book "The Stand," it would only make sense to ask Stephen King, as he's the author.
In the same spirt, the Catholic Church alone produced the Bible and this is why we can trust he interpretation of it.
