The Bible is not the final authority, the Church is. The Church produced the Bible and only she has the authority to interrupt it.
If we wanted to know about the book "The Stand," it would only make sense to ask Stephen King, as he's the author.
In the same spirt, the Catholic Church alone produced the Bible and this is why we can trust he interpretation of it. -

I think it comes from a fundamental lack of understanding the importance of Reconciliation in relation to Communion. I'm sad to say it's the fault of Catholic educators who failed them while they were in Religious Education.
