I've seen my fiancé do it a few times, it is just a completely different ball game and I've never had any desire to do it.

I use an R-strap.
Well, there isn't much you can do about harsh lighting if it's during the ceremony, sometimes there is a magic angle that seems to work better than other angles, but the best way to deal with harsh lighting is really proper editing. I recently shot a ceremony with harsh lighting and ended up having to do a pit of burning and dodging to balance the light between the bride and groom (bride was in light, groom was not). -
It varies for formals depending on location... for churches I have an alien bee einstein, sometimes I use natural light if it's nice outside, or I use a simple OCF outside to bring in a little fill.

I guess I ditched them in mid-June, and yes I ditched the PWs. My stratos have yet to fail me, although the batteries do seem to die more often.

I've never used an album company that was less than $250 for a 10x10 30pg - Vision Art is around the more expensive range that you speak of while you can probably get a cheaper album from WHCC, Millers, or Zookbinder's photowrap matter page album. I do the album design myself with photojunction, I actually enjoy designing albums. I am currently limiting my album sizes to 10x10 only unless otherwise requested. The more options you give a client the harder it will be for them to make a decision. While I enjoy sizes other than square, I stick to square because it makes it much easier to provide a smaller parent album with it. I don't know if I would consider my spreads collages but you can see a little more about the albums here : http://sweetcarolinephoto.com/austin-wedding-photographer-albums/

Jpegs.
Nope, I used pocket wizards, now I use phottix stratos.
Be more specific about album tips and maybe I can help. -

Hey Gabby, yes I did. I don't often bring them to engagement sessions unless I know I am going to be shooting inside. I always have a softbox or umbrella for bridals.

so far out of all the engagements & weddings you've done, what would be your favorite outta the two?
asked by gabbytphotoI do love engagement sessions but I enjoy shooting weddings more because there is so much emotion on the day and I enjoy capturing all the moments.

I get inspired a lot by other photographers and follow a lot of photographer's work but at the same point in time when I go to a venue I look around trying to find spots that can create a photo like I've never seen before.

I use an alien bee einstein with an octobox.

I'll post a few to my flickr some time soon since you asked, I keep it pretty simple. I'd say lenses > camera, it's a hard decision to make but when it comes down to it you won't be able to notice a bad camera as much as a bad lens.

The off camera flashes are usually set to 1/16 and my on camera is 1/8-1/2 depending on the ceiling.

Hey Tony, thanks, :)
Sometime I still feel like I don't have it *just* right but I've been very happy with the results I have been receiving from it thus far...
I had a friend from college create my logo almost immediately after I started the business which took about a month or so to finalize. All the branding materials from Nubby Twiglet took about 6 months to finish. -

I wish I could help but its been years since I have worked with the Tofurious templates 8/
-
No... I don't deliver that many black and whites but some times an image just calls for it and sometimes I feel like delivering both versions.

When you set up a wordpress blog check out Tofurious templates they have a few free ones that are good to start out with.

I know what it's like to have little money starting out, borrow or rent good equipment until you can afford to buy.
My website is a wordpress.org site that was custom designed/coded but before I had that I used a pro photo 3 blog theme that was great. -
I use a fill flash almost all the time at receptions, some times I may turn the power down to give the OCF a more powerful effect. As soon as my flash starts to tire I change batteries, usually it keeps up just fine. It also helps that I keep it on manual rather than ETTL.

I am a big fan of burning and dodging because it reminds me of my days in the darkroom, but that's all I do as far as selective editing is concerned.

I learned a good amount of stuff, if you love Jeff as much as I do, you will like it.
