I did a similar thing, except, with glass bottles... I loved drinks that came in glass bottles, and I loved drinking from them. I thought it was so awesome.
I also thought shoes with laces were da-bomb.
My mother would always try to get me to get shoes with Velcro straps --
She was CONVINCED I'd get my lace caught in or under something, and it would lead to my death.
But I simply WOULD NOT have Velcro straps.
They had to be laces. Velcro was exclusively for the ultra uncool kids.

I didn't care for Johnny Depp in the least, until I watched Dead Man last year.
