Hey, sorry for the late reply, just looked on your Tumblr and glad to see you managed to figure it all out :) And hope you have a great new year too!

From what I've heard, hypertrophic scars are usually caused by pressure or irritation from the jewellery (or as it's on your ear, possibly from sleeping on it), so first of all, I'd suggest trying to sort out whatever is most likely causing it in the first place, eg. changing the jewellery or trying not to sleep on that ear. As well as that, sea salt soaks are good for most things piercing-related.

Tea tree oil has helped with any bumps on my piercings in the past, but it's very strong so should only be used on well healed piercings (AT LEAST 4 months for an industrial) and should be diluted. I've also heard good things about chamomile, but never tried it myself. It's probably a better bet than the tea tree because it's so much gentler.
