Do you think with all this 'Properslang' lark that you've actually given them more promotion than anything? I hadn't even heard of the event until you guys brought it up.

Firstly, its not like we could have let them get on with what they were doing without saying anything... they were aggressively advertising to our customer base and we had to do something to show that we weren't cool with it and to distance ourselves from them
the fact is that whilst people close to us would have followed us wherever, the kid on the street could easily have gotten confused by the word 'slang' and 'new name, same night' etc. We had to distance ourselves.
But now everyone has gotten fully behind us. Punks who don't go to New Slang but can tell its a Banquet night. Under 18s who have never been to New Slang but understand that we're the ones that provide their all ages shows for ATL or YM@6, the drum n bass world, they're all against this and are helping to spread the word.
And as for the indie world. well an anti-propaslang group was set up by fans and is significant in number already.
People need to know why its wrong and this is our side of the story. then we'll let people decide which night they want to go to
