I usually go by Benjamin Ronning on the internet but my given name is Patrick Mains. Truth be told I kind of forget I had a Formspring account. I've been following Filibuster Cartoons for over a decade and we exchanged e-mails a couple times in the past year.
Be sure to drop me a line if you ever find yourself in my neck of the woods (or prairie, since I live in Lethbridge :P) -
For me it's a combination of "quiet" and "boring" but that's not necessarily a bad thing, mind you. It's only that the city's mostly known for two pieces of architecture: the Lethbridge Viaduct Bridge and the University of Lethbridge, the latter of which was recently featured on a stamp. As one can expect, the city is solidly conservative though there are enough Liberals (at least in the Eastern part of the city) to send a Liberal MLA to the Provincial Legislature.
Oddly enough, for a city of about 85,000, it feels pretty close knit because the Mayor was once an administrator at my old High School, and my father's an acquaintance of our outgoing MP. And if you think the Calgary/Edmonton rivalry is intense (pity my cousins who are Edmontonian exiles in Calgary), Lethbridge has a pretty intense rivalry with both Red Deer and Medicine Hat-- but least we can go cross-border shopping more easily that they can, that counts for something right?
Oh boy. I'm starting to ramble, aren't I?
