How excited were you when you thought that the FormSpring/April Fools news story was real? by BME

Meg told me about the story/rumor that was circulating about how FormSpring was really just a social experiment to see how people would behave and that all of the anonymous user data that is stored would be made public along with the questions that people asked on April 1st.

I thought it was an amazing idea and it would really show you what people were made of when it was revealed exactly who asked you which of the many hateful questions that formspring has allowed people to do.

Unfortunately upon further review, it appears that it's a hoax. I wonder how many people have deleted their accounts over it. That would be really telling.

yesterday

I was away from BME for a long time. I came back, and I am seeing all this stuff about legal fees and lawsuits. Can I get the short story of what happened? (Or a link?) by boofuzi

http://news.BMEzine.com/2008/11/14/BME-legal-update/

That's a link that gives an overview of the legal situation that BME is currently facing.

Have you and Norm split up? If so, I'm really sorry. I hope you're ok.

Nope, we're still together. We'll see how it goes. I'm sure it will be publicly blasted by other people who are trying to cause drama if we do go our separate ways. We both lead very busy lives, with him working two full time jobs and myself having BME as a full time career as well as the other side projects that I do that help to pay for BME.

i just found out i have bed bugs, i feel your pain. what did you do to get rid of them.

Call an exterminator. Depending on where you live, your landlord may be legally obligated to cover the extermination fees because it is expensive.

You will have to wash everything, bag everything and then leave it in bags for like 2 months to make sure they're all dead. It's the worst but make sure that you do it right. I'd recommend googling for bed bags/covers which can save your mattress so you don't have to throw it out. I threw out mine but then since I replaced it with an "adult bed", the kind you keep for 20 years, I invested in a 30 dollar bed bug proof cover which will protect it from bed bugs in the future since we still don't know how we got them.

I know you say you don't wear makeup, but when you do it looks great. A little shadow, some lippy...I hope you keep trying.

Thanks! I'm trying new things. My mom, as a horse trainer, was a bit of a tom boy. She always worse a little concealer and lip stick but never wore a full face of makeup so she was never able to show me how to do that. I'd like to be able to show my daughter how to do more traditionally girly things.

i love the newest picture of you on your bmezpage. but i'm wondering have you always had such long hair? it's beautiful, and do you style it or just let in hang normally? by hairmom

Thank you. I've been growing my hair out since 2004 so it's been a very long process. I wear hair extensions for length and volume. The front of my hair is almost down to my shoulders and the back is about down to my bra strap. The extensions fill it out.

As far as styling, just like makeup, I don't know what I'm doing so I just let it do it's thing.

did you have dark circles under your eyes before the procedure? because i am getting my deviated septum fixed because i have horrible dark circles under my eyes and it's not from being tired, it's sinus problems. i'm hoping it'll fix it!

I've always had dark circles under my eyes so if this relieves them, I'd be happy as a clam! My surgery is only a couple weeks old though so I still have some bruising and swelling under my eyes that seems to be coming and going.

Let me know if it fixes your circles! I'd love to know if it has that effect!

First, you are a beautiful woman, but you already know that. I have three questions. Here's the first: on bmezine.com there's a picture of you wearing big hoop earrings. They look amazing on you. Do you ever wear them?

I think you're talking about the silver oval hooks made by Diablo Organics. Those were a gift from Jimmy and I've worn them a few times. I tend to stick to whatever I'm wearing in my ears and now change them out.

I currently wearing a pair of wood plugs with mercury dimes inlayed in them that were a gift that I got at APP in 2004/05 I believe. I don't remember who gave them to me but I found them a year or so ago and have been wearing them ever since.

Second question: When (at what age)did you have your ears pierced?

12. I got them pierced in exchange for quitting sucking my thumb. I quit for like a month, got them pierced and then sucked my thumb until I was 15.

Third question: What have you had pierced at any time in your life?

Let's start from the top and work our way down.

I've had a surface piercing in my forehead, two eyebrow piercings, nostril piercings, 4ga nostril punches, 3/4" stretched lobes, tragus, medusa, various labrets, side lip rings, multiple tongue piercings, nipple piercings, 3 navel piercings at one time, random surface piercings and that's it.

I've never had any genital piercings. I'm a wuss. What can I say. I've also never had a piercing fully heal, despite having them for years at a time which is why I never got anything below the belt pierced because I was afraid it would never become functional. The only fully healed piercings I have are my lobes.

Just to reassure you, if I get hate mail, I'll scratch their eyes out. I hope you have a great week and best of luck on the tour thing. I just wish cats were allowed... by salacioussue

Thank you! I'd allow cats but then you'd have to spend all of the tour in some quarantine facility and that wouldn't be all that awesome.

Do you still have hair extensions? If so, how involved is the maintenance? I'm thinking of getting some but I want to know what's involved- how much time, money, etc. Thanks! by purplestains

Yes. It all depends how you take care of them. I take really good care of my hair so I can wear them for 4-6 months.

They are expensive and it depends on the amount you need, the length and the quality of the hair that is used. I go to a great stylist in Marina del Rey. It's kind of personal though so I don't really care to discuss the financial aspect of it.

Hope that answers your questions.

Has your daughter expressed any interest in getting piercings tattoos in the future and based on that what age do you think is appropriate for piercings and tattoos. by Betabox

She begged for months to get her ears pierced. I caved and she took them out at 6 weeks to change them and they closed in a couple of minutes.

I think 18-21 is a good age. My better/favorite tattoos are all from after I was 21.

I'll leave the decision of when to get modifications up to her. I have a feeling she may not be that into it when she's older though.

WTF???!!! Why can't people just leave you alone for a while? Bills, custody and touring.... Wouldn't it be nice if you were a cat like me? by salacioussue

I don't know why but with the level of attention that BME attracts, with positive there will always be negative. Since you asked and included your name, I apologize in advance for any hate mail that comes your way.

Hey Rachel, I'm curious as to how you managed to "break your face"! It looked really painful. by Sproglet

I had a deviated septum fixed. It says it in the video I posted the other day. The black eyes were pretty wicked. It's amazing because they didn't bother to tell me I'd get such big black eyes from it but I guess if they're breaking your nose and shaving down the sides of your septum that it's going to have that effect!

The funny thing is I didn't used to snore but I've been snoring since the surgery now that the inside of my nose is so swollen.

It was incredibly painful. I honestly couldn't believe how painful it was after they told me it was going to be a minor procedure.

Rachel, can I apply to handle your internet drama while you're on tour? by tinyvegan

Screw waiting until I go on tour, can you handle it now?!?!

Why did Jen Newby Blanchard go to SpotLight Tattoo and talk shit about you all day behind your back to a shop that considers you to be part of their family, after she has spent the past few months begging you to be her friend?

I wish I knew the answer to this. I was pretty surprised when I got the phone call letting me know that someone I barely knew, who often claims that we were "good friends" was trash talking me.

She apparently took great pride in dishing out 4 year old rumors and trying to start drama with my family as well as between myself and my ex husband.

It shows that despite the emails and messages claiming that she had "changed" and was sorry for all the drama that she had started against me in 2006, that she had indeed not changed at all.

I feel badly for her. It must be hard not knowing what being a friend actually means.

What do you do to perk yourself up on a bad day? by Botexty

I'm not sure if it's one word or two but Yogurt Land did a great job today.

The other day you bought yourself lunch. How can you afford lunch with all the legal bills BME has to pay? by cere

I don't pay my legal bills! It's pretty much the trade off I have to make. I have to decide which bills I pay each month. Luckily my legal team is awesome and not only are they sooo awesome but they also let me make payments because they know that I am good for my word.
