Courtney Acid is not a weight loss drug, I suggest you stop doing it.

Watching the House series finale right now.
It can't end. It just can't.

from what your describing, the cons far outway the pros.
if its an A show, and your horse is underweight looking, and doesnt have changes, it will not place in any of the eq or hunter classes, even in a low height division.
So you will pay a very large amount of money to lay down trips that the horse shouldnt be making and the judges won't take you seriously for.
Honestly, work hard, save your money, and lease something capable of being competitive at an A show, the scenario you described seems like a waste of time and money :( -
Most big eq/ junior hunters are older! Ivy was 16 when zazou won the maclay, i know of 5 15+ junior hunter/ big eq packers off the top of my head, and sapphire just retired from the GP's at age 17! If you do the maintenance, keep them sound and happy and if they are still happy to do the job they can go as long as they want to! For trick, the 3'6" hunters are something he can do in his sleep, and he LOVES the job. Until he tells me he doesnt want to do them anymore, he can keep doing his job. I will do everything in my power to keep him happy and sound, and i have a detailed plan to do so. Although, if we ever have to take extreme measures to keep him going, its time to move down, and i know that. I don't care. If all i could do was hack him for the rest of his life i would be happy. Trick doesn't need to work his way up, if i had the balls to do it he and i could waltz around the junior ring tomorrow. But i dont, so were starting in the Childrens and modified childrens.

If your horse doesnt have lead changes i wouldn't ever enter them in the hunter/equitation ring at an A show at any level, 2'3" or 4'3". If you do, you won't place. B shows maybe, but A, school the changes first your wasting your money.

no they aren't unconventional at all!
it just means your horse is very supple and easy to handle, which is a good thing especially if you can pilot him/her around a big eq course with one!
Aesthetically though i prefer a D-ring snaffle in the show equitation/hunter ring. Its practically as soft as the loose ring, the d-ring just offers a teeny bit more leverage, which is nice for the ring, but its still essentially as soft.
However you normally mostly see a pelham type bit in the equitation as they are extraordinarily technical courses. -
Perf. I'm assuming you liked it? Lol Justine thought it would be perfect for him at shows to keep his stride slightly smaller than 16' long lol
-
Um kinda but not really. A couple people have them for video viewing purposes, and the barn has a sales one, SperaboStables
-
Bubble jointed loose ring snaffle at home...nice and soft for the old man
Slow twist D ring is what were thinking of using, and what I believe Avery and Shelley had him going in at shows. -
LOL
Oh man
I'm blonde okay don't judge :P -
I would run it over with my car.
