I think everyone has the right to believe whatever they want. Personally, I don't see why there'd be a god of any sort. If they existed then it would seem like they truly have no power to alter things, and feel indifferent towards helpless people getting killed. I think the concept of heaven and hell forces people to work hard their whole life, and hope they'll be rewarded when they're dead. I also think its bribing someone to be a good person, whereas without those concepts people would just do what's right because they chose too.
