Ah, I create titles WELL before I write the book. xD
After finding the initial plot, I go through and throw a LOT of titles. I usually go on Yahoo! Answers and look up, "Good story titles for [genre of book] stories."
I usually NEVER use those titles, but they ALWAYS work to create an ultimate one.
Look on Wattpad, on the What's Hot List. Some of them are borderline ridiculous, but some of them actually are quite good.
It's really up to you. :)

My favourite type of story are coming-of-age stories. I'm really not much of a romance-fan anymore, although I used to be. I don't know, I guess it all seems tedious?
Don't take my word for it now, though: I most likely will like them again. But my favourite type of story will always be ones with quirky/lovable characters, a complete twist of plotlines from the usual and emotional/obvious development of EACH of the characters from the start of the book to the finish.
The television show "Community" does exactly that, while also adding it humour and the PERFECT amount of romance. You must watch it! xD

I got popular when my book, Invisible Magic, found itself a spot in the Featured section. That's when I actually got popular.
Before that, I was a mess of read-for-reads and writing novels. In all honesty, if you want to get popular, you have to be able to write/do read-for-reads AND engross yourself in novels all at the same time. It's a tough lifestyle, but if you're passionate enough about it, it'll work out for you. :)

Ah, I'm so sorry for the late response!
I saw this question but forgot to reply. :P
As for writing, I write all of my stories spontaneously but have an idea of what I want to accomplish -whether it's a romance plot, a coming-of-age story where the main character drastically changes from the start to the finish or just a simple plot where they get all that's desired after going through hell. You know?
So I don't recommend going, "I'm going to write a novel!" and write aimlessly, because I've once done that and it DOES NOT work. Instead, have a list of goals as to what you're trying to accomplish. And go from there on.

And as for advertising, I did A LOT. Like, a lot. You know, Read-for-Reads and replying to almost anybody who asks for a book similar to mine. It takes a lot of time, but once you get there, it's totally worth it.
I joined Wattpad in 2010, so this is my popularity in 2 years. It's kinda slow on Wattpad if you're not writing pervy stories. :P
