I think generally action movies historically set out to give a limited and stereotypical view of women: the victim, the seductress, the villain, the psychopath..... I don't think actresses are always the best source of 'women of action'. I'd choose Oprah or Hilary Clinton as the prime example of what a woman can do - what a difference she can make in this world.

Not just one. I love jewel tones, blues and greens and teal... but I also love neutrals, black white gray... but not neons and very rarely pastels.

Indie - I love smart documentaries. Business of Being Born is a good one. Foreign films - In the Mood For Love is a gorgeous film. Tons and tons of further examples but those were 2 off the top of my head.
