Usually waiting a however long it takes for the piercing to heal is best, but if you do go in the water wearing a waterproof bandage helps keep bacteria out. Chlorine can irritate it if you don't wait long enough and the bacteria from lakes can bring on an infection.

Oh I think a stud would look better, but a ring wouldn't look bad...

I've grown up around body modification, my brother who is a scarification artist and who used to be a piercer has taught me most of what I know. I've gotten many offers to work in tattoo and piercing shops and I think I'm finally going to accept one of those apprenticeships sometime soon now that I'm not moving.

We do get a huge amount of submissions and my life seems to be busier than I thought it was because I never seem to get on here as much. I always apologize and then post the submissions, which is usually at around 50 by the time I get to them. Sorry!

Ice it to keep the swelling down, otherwise it's pretty much inevitable, I have my second holes pierced and I almost never wear anything in there because of how it digs into my stretched lobes.

Well it's possible to pierce your ears with just about anything sharp. I wouldn't recommend it, as I don't condone self done piercings. But yeah you could do that...

Hidden? Well, navel, nipples, certain parts of your ear, smiley, and microdermals on any part of your body you wouldn't normally show with clothes on.

Not at all. It's a very sensitive spot, you have to make sure you get it in the right spot and it easily rejects and gets infected. Your best bet is to get it professionally if you want it to work out for you.

Tea tree oil, has a nice minty herby scent to it, it will also help with the healing and keep them healthy.
