What made you decide to write about the business of mommy blogging?

    I found it interesting.

I joined this community because I needed something to do with myself when my son was very young, and I knew some people were making money off it, so why not me? Then I noticed this kind of undecided attitude toward the business side of it, people acting as if they just sort of looked up when money started falling in their laps, saying things like "linkbait" or "marketing" with distaste, as if this was something nobody with any taste or discernment would ever do.

And nobody was saying anything about all the rampant hypocrisy, favoritism, guarding of resources, gatekeeping, etc. And there was all kinds of information I wanted that I couldn't get, and so I started trying to find it.

Then I realized, if there's all this stuff I don't know and people are really giving me a hard time about sharing it, well, there's clearly a market here. And when I wrote about it, people just ate it up, and I thought, well, I guess this is my thing.
