OH MY GOD. this is actually driving me INSANEEE. money is not everything, it will never be everything. you can be the richest man in the world in this sport, and still not get anywhere. if you're not willing to work hard and deal with what gets thrown at you, no amount of money will get you to the top. if you have absolutely no backing, but want this more than anything and are willing to do everything it takes, and you have one person believing in you, and a couple willing to help, you'll get somewhere. yes, money helps get extra rides, but you know what, so does talent. it actually disgusts me that some people would actually answer this question with a real number, because it just shows such a lack of class. it is nobody's business how much money your parents make, really, its not even their own child's. every single person I've ever met that has real money, you would never, ever know it. they're normal people. people without real money are the ones that go around bragging about how much they have and how much their horse costs and blah blah blah no one cares. everyone is doing the best they can with what they have. money doesn't make you who you are, it can't buy talent, it can't buy work ethic, it can't buy happiness.. it can't buy the real qualities that bring you to the top in riding, or in any sport. it would be nice if we could all be the richest man in the world, but we can't. everyone is in the situation they're in, and different opportunities happen to different people. and those opportunities and that situation are nobody's business, so the fact that you're asking a question like this on fs makes me crazy. it makes me crazy that people assume anyone with money is rich or stuck up or bought their way to the top, because its not true. i know so many people with so much money, and people with nothing, who aren't going anywhere in the sport because they don't work hard enough at it and don't want it bad enough. i know so many people with so much money and people with nothing, that work harder than anyone I've ever met, that really love it, and are going to get everything they want out of it simply because they won't back down.

no one can deny money plays a role in this sport, but i go insane when i see questions like this and people complaining that they don't have enough money so they aren't going anywhere. you're in control of your own life. I'm guilty of saying i wish i had enough money to buy such and such a horse, but at the end of the day i wouldn't trade what i have to have more. if you want something bad enough, and deserve it enough, you'll work hard enough to earn it, i promise
