Thank you very much for the kind words. I don't know that I'll ever do anything like that.
This is just my little corner of the interwebs to be creative and chase down a great dive bar or a great slinger. (Headed out again next week for the slinger.)
Thank you for reading!!! -
That really depends on what your point of view is.
I was born in Alton, IL back in the 70's. When I was three months old, I was spirited back to the Missouri Side of the River.
From that point, I bounced all around the Metro Area, including the county, Illinois, Rural Missouri and Lafayette Square, Northampton, Dutchtown, Lafayette Park, and Tower Grove South. I spend a number of years outside of the City Limits and I'm glad to be back. My exwife and I didn't see eye to eye on the City of St. Louis, so we compromised and ended up in the County.
Well, I'm back in the City and now trying to help the city in the best way I can. I consider St. Louis to be my hometown.
Thanks for the question!! -
As loath as I am to say this, I don't really get to the Hill all that much, and in large part I'm a creature of habit. I don't try a whole lot of new places, funny huh, unless I'm prompted.
When I want a really good sandwich what I like best is Blues City Deli in Benton Park. I've only eaten at about three places on the Hill that I can think of....two were very nice sit down Italian, of course, and one was a nice Scicilian Pizza joint.
I'll have no problem remembering the name of the street this one is on...lol. I'll check it out some weekend when I really want a sandwich.
Also, here's another confession from the 13 Blog.
I can't order a sandwich. I am no good at it. I have to have my companions order it for me. There's one person in this world that always orders it properly, too bad it's not my wife. :)
Thanks for the question and keep them coming!! -
Yes, the quest goes on...though a bit frustratingly so right now. As I told the proprietor of 12th Street Diner a couple weeks back, my current favorite would have to be Chris's Pancake House's slinger.
Theirs comes with pancakes...I mean seriously?! It's very large and comes with a large helping of properly cut white onions.

This was an early post so the good pictures and such didn't happen, but you get the gist I think. -
I'm very sorry, but this blog is about diners, dives, slingers, and bourbon. You could search out a good science blog to find out about flying cars.

Shaving. I really hate shaving.
