That's AMAZING that you have found a guy who is so supportive of you wearing heels especially when you are taller to begin with. You know what that makes me think when I see a guy with a taller girl? Wow, they must both be super confident and secure to go against height 'norms' to be together. Your boyfriend must be a really great guy to encourage you to wear heels! I love that! And a girl rocking heels with her shorter man? GO GIRL!!

There are a few celebrity couples that come to mind; Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise (I think she's 5'11 and he's 5'7) and not a couple but think of Khloe Kardashian who is 5'11 and always w her 5'0 & 5'2 sisters! I know a couple that are married with two kids, she's gorgeous, blonde and 5'11 while he is only about 5'4.

I would suggest starting w lower heel when with your man to 'ease' into it. I just picked up a pair from Payless (for days I don't want to be 6'4 ;) for $26 (black, snakeskin peep toes with a 2.5 inch heel). Also, if you really aren't feeling heels with him, go for flats and save your heels for work and outings with your girl friends. There are a ton of cute flats out there and they are so versatile and 'accepted' nowadays as fancier footware.

Good luck w the heels, Tia!!

Wow! I feel so special to hear this and that I am helping encourage you to wear heels. Yay!!

First off, does it matter to me that I'm taller? Kind of, and it's honestly not my favorite thing but I love heels too much to not wear then at all. I do get comments like, 'Omg you're soooo tall' from people I know and even complete strangers, which is weird because do you walk around telling short people how short they are?! Lol, not likely! However, I just try to remind myself that it's a compliment and they are not likely trying to be vindictive or mean, they are simply in awe of our height and maybe a little envious too :)

Another thing I find 'shorter' people don't tend to 'get' (or so I find) is why if we are so tall, we wear heels. My response to this is, 'Everyone else gets to wear them so why not!' or, 'I don't wear heels to give me height, I wear them for the look'.

Confidence in wearing heels when you're already tall comes over time, as you get used to it. There are still some days where it frustrates me to get 'yet another tall comment' but the bottom line is I love heels so I'm going to wear whatever the hell I want.

I've had women comment about how they WISH they had my height which is sweet, and again, when someone makes a comment about how tall I am, I don't think they are trying to be rude... And if they are, you can always tell them how short they are ;)

Whatever you do, if you wear heels, you have to own it. Shoulders back, head high; the worst is a tall woman in heels whos slouching or hunched over. Fake the confidence if you don't have it at first. It will come. :)

Aw thank you! I ALWAYS spray tan and haven't been in a tanning bed in five years.

I always use either the Mystiq or VersaSpa at iTan :)

      Very exciting!

Here are a few of my favorite US things:
      Suave Dry Shampoo

Elf concealer & highlighter in one (this is like $2 at target)

      Anything from Target

I always make sure to pop into the following stores, if possible: Target, Ross, TJ Maxx & H&M (but we don't have one in my city).

Side notes include Wet Seal, Charlotte Russe & Forever 21 (the US gets different items!).

I love eating at Sbarro for fast food and I absolutely adore Chili's (the buffalo chicken burger is my fave).

Yankee Candle has the. best. candles. (comparable to Pier 1, and for me, that's the big leagues).

Also I like taking photos of random things that have labels only printed in English.  It seems everything here is bilingual (well, in Ontario at least) and it's cool to see it in simply one language (but I'm weird like that ;)

Oh, I also make sure to drink lots of Cool-Lattas from Dunkin Donuts (so freakin' good!).

Lastly, I love shopping at Bijoux Terner, a small but packed boutique-like store with more accessories you can imagine.  The best part?  Every item is $10.  Pashminas, bangles, clutches, ties, earrings, sunglasses and more.  $10.  (yes, ten. dollars.)

      Have a great trip!!

I don't?! Lol! I hadn't noticed! I still wear it, actually I wore it yesterday, I guess I just haven't been taking outfit shots when I've been rocking it. Ill keep it in mind :)

It's just starting to get cold here (shocking as normally it's quite snowy and freezing by now) however, I do wear fishnets throughout the cold winter months. The best way to keep warm? High boots & a long jacket.

I always wear a 'commute boot' to and from work and change into other footwear upon arrival. I also drive to work and stay inside pretty much all day.

      Yes!

Hahaha well, not exactly, which is a little sad but I'm working on getting organized so I can see everything and it's neat. Much harder with a smaller space but if I spin it positively, it's forcing me to be more creative (and tidy! ;)

I can definitely share photos once it's 'complete' :)

      Thanks :)

I have moved three times since May but am finally settled. Life changes brought on the move(s) and I'll blog about it very soon. Thanks for your concern :)

You are so sweet :) I will post about it soon - I know I keep saying this but it's just finding the right timing.

    18. A.Co

I am, it's just taking some courage to put it out there online. Things are getting much, much better and I will post about it soon. Thanks for asking :)

      Good question!

Seasonal styles and trends are something that I certainly keep in mind, that said, I don't adopt every trend out there. Some trends just aren't for me/my body and that's fine. I always try to dress to accentuate what I have and camouflage my 'flaws'.

Price always affects what I buy, in a big way. I can be kind of cheap when it comes to clothing. I don't like spending a lot on one item as then it doesn't leave much left for me to purchase other things.

Top priority would fall to how I feel it in, how it looks and the price. If it's an amazing piece that I cannot live without, I will consider something a bit pricier, but more often than not, I'll look for a cheaper alternative. If the price is great and it doesn't look that good/isn't flattering or I feel uncomfortable, it's a no.

My least important qualities are brand name. I'm not a label whore AT ALL, and while I'd love to dress in the finest, most brand-iest clothing labels, (1) I cannot afford that, and (2) it's not that important to me. I really believe that style cannot be bought. Sure you can put on a full designer outfit but that doesn't mean you're stylish, it means you fell trap to a brand name or a label. Being able to mix highs and lows (or simply all lows for that matter) is true style and I firmly believe you don't have to spend a fortune to look like a million bucks.
